I would like to grind my own fresh coffee beans, what kind of grinder should I use?

We recommend using a burr grinder for the best results, as blade grinders may create dust which can inhibit the flow of coffee when brewing.

What coffee is recommended for use with FeePod capsules?

Firstly, we always recommend grabbing a bag of our delicious Bespoke Blend in stovetop grind (crafted specifically for use with FeePod) to get you going - you can also take this along to your local roaster as a great grind reference point!

And of course, one of the beauties of reusable pods, is that you're no longer restricted to the blends available from big brands. To help you brew a great planet-friendly cuppa, we've put together our key tips for selecting the perfect coffee for your new reusable pods!

Blend: It's important to remember coffee beans are an agricultural product - naturally, they differ! The roasting process also has a big impact on the final product. As pure coffee beans have no added flavours, we suggest using a lovely strong, dark roast. We also encourage you to try a new blend every time you shop for a new bag of coffee as you build an understanding for which flavours and aromas suit your palate.

Grind size: We recommend using a medium-fine grind (slightly coarser than espresso). If you're not grinding at home, ask your favourite cafe to grind the beans for you.

Machine prep (recommended for best results)
To assist with optimal performance, before brewing with reusable pods we recommend performing a thorough descale to ensure that the brewing pressure of your machine is normal.

Step 1. Fill
Fill, tamp very gently, and then repeat to ensure the capsule is full to the top. Remove excess grinds with the handle of the scoop. Please note: FeePod works best when used with 7.5-8.5g of ground coffee.

Step 2. Seal & brew
Close with the Capsule Cover. Set the capsule inside the machine, close the lever slowly, and brew! Please note: After brewing, wait a few minutes for the components to cool before removing the capsule to avoid damaging the Capsule Cover.

What are the Paper Filters for? Do I need to use them?

The FeePod Paper Filters are biodegradable and compostable.

We recommend using the Paper Filter if brewing tea. They are optional when brewing coffee - we suggest running a shot with the Filter, and a shot without the Filter to see what works better with your machine! For coffee, the Paper Filter is helpful if you are finding coffee grinds in your coffee, or to assist in brewing a richer, more intense espresso.

How to use reusable pods for Aldi K-fee Expressi

• If using a machine where the coffee comes out of the base of the capsule, the paper filter is placed in the capsule before adding coffee.
• If using a machine where the coffee comes out of the top of the capsule, the paper filter is placed at the top, after filling with coffee.

Can I use FeePod capsules to brew Tea?

Yes, FeePods allow you to enjoy a lovely cuppa using your favourite tea leaves! When filling, add a single scoop of chopped tea leaves, and simply place one of the paper filters on top. This ensures there is enough space in the capsule for the tea leaves to expand during the brewing process.

Note: Tea leaves vary widely - we suggest you experiment with your selected tea for desired results.

What is the capacity of a FeePod Capsule?

FeePod works best when used with 7.5-8.5g of ground coffee.
